Program Overview
OnTrack Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides a comprehensive, Minnesota Department of Health-approved curriculum designed to prepare learners for safe, person-centered care in long-term care, assisted living, and healthcare settings.
This hybrid program includes 75 total hours of training, combining on-demand online learning, proctored exams, and hands-on skills and competency practice led by your RN instructor – Helping ensure learners are fully prepared for the Minnesota Nurse Aide Competency Exams.
Organizations can train learners when and how they need — with no minimum class size.

How the Program Works
A flexible hybrid format that supports classrooms, workforce programs, and employer-based training. This hybrid program includes 75 total hours of training, combining:
- 43 hours of on-demand online learning,
- 2 hours of proctored exams, and
- 30 hours of hands-on skills and competency practice led by your RN instructor (includes 16 hours of supervised practical training).

- Translated Learning Journals in Spanish, Somali, and Hmong also available upon request

Program Completion Requirements
Learners must:
- Complete all 43 online hours
- Complete 2 hour proctored exams
- Complete all 30 in-person skills hours
- Demonstrate competency in required skills
After completing the program, learners may:
- Take the Minnesota Nurse Aide Competency Exam to join the state registry, or
- Choose to work in roles that do not require CNA registration, such as an unlicensed caregiver or other entry-level care position.

Translated Learning Journals Available
To support multilingual learners, OnTrack CNA offers Learning Journals translated into:
- Spanish
- Somali
- Hmong
Each learner automatically receives one English Learning Journal and may request additional translated Learning Journals to support comprehension.
To further support multilingual learners, they will also have access to translated materials including:
– A brief online, Introductory course
– An online Test Preparation course
– Practice exams
Note: Per state requirements, all instruction must be delivered in English.
